Travel agents as we once knew them are long gone, but travel advisory is not. Even for people who prefer to book their own travel, access to local insight, knowledge, and advice is hugely valuable. At Horizonaut, we advise on places that we know intimately, places we’ve lived, and places we love.
Inspired by the Fleetwood Mac song "You can go your own way", we avoid following the crowd. Instead, we prefer to take the road less travelled. We seek out lesser known destinations, unique adventures, and intimate, authentic places to stay. From a one-man tent in the bush, to a glamorous villa on the cliffs of Sorrento, it is this range of experience that makes life interesting.
We start by understanding who you are, how you like to travel, and what you’re looking for. From there, we offer two types of service:
For advice only, we charge an hourly fee for our time and expertise .
For full service (advise, plan, and book), it doesn’t cost you anything and it might even save you money.
How is this possible? Travel advisors make money from bookings, receiving up to 30% of the total booking value. You may think it’s cheaper to book directly with the hotel, but it’s not, since the price you get from the hotel will be the same price you get from an advisor or booking platform. This is because travel advisors are compensated through hotel properties, not through their clients.
We advise on places we places we know intimately and places we love, including:
Africa - Kenya, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Mauritius, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Morocco, and Egypt
Asia - India, Sri Lanka
Europe - France, Italy, the Greek Islands, and the UK (especially London)
The Americas - Mexico, Peru, Brazil, and the US (especially Los Angeles, California)
Is there somewhere you want to go that’s not on this list? We’ve probably been there. Just ask us.
